I was a waiter at a Mexican restaurant named Taqueria mi Pueblo. I worked there because I really needed a job like this to learn new things like how to treat people and discover new experiences. Another reason was to be able to get ahead and not to struggle with the expenses of my life. More than anything I wanted to be able to help my mother a little with the bills of the house because at that time it was difficult to earn money, other reasons were for myself to buy clothes, tennis shoes, things that were interesting to me..

I worked there for a period of 6 months.  The tasks I had to complete were to serve people with kindness, to serve food to their tables without spilling, to clean the floor, to clean the windows, to clean the ornaments, to clean the area of the cashiers etc. It was a pretty good job but tiring.

Some of the challenges I faced were at the beginning. It was difficult for me to serve people because there were many types of customers starting with the most difficult to satisfy by their character. On other occasions, when many people arrived in large groups at one time it was difficult. Between 7am and 11am there were not so many people. There were only small amounts. But almost right at 12pm was when people arrived in heaps. It was very difficult because of so many orders and hearing their orders was difficult with so many people were around.  It’s difficult to carry up to 6 menudos with everything to the table. Over time I gained experience. Not much but I knew what I was doing and I got better.
